Reviews for Indietracks 2013

Just a quick post to share some lovely reviews about this year’s festival. Thanks so much to everyone who took the time to write some nice words about us. Click on the links for the full reviews, where available, as we couldn’t condense everything into this summary!
Yet again Indietracks has pulled off a blinder. This festival, despite its diminutive stature, is defiant, mighty and triumphant.  Stage Times
Arguably the most unique event of its kind on these shores. This year’s line-up ranks among one of the finest Indietracks has put together. A truly magnificent weekend that just gets better every year.Drowned in Sound
Since its inception in 2007, Indietracks has remained one of the best kept secrets of the UK festival scene and a hideaway from modern life. Whilst two of the more established names (Bis & Helen Love) produced sets that were ridiculously fun, the highlights came from those still cutting their teeth.Contactmusic
Now in its eighth year, Indietracks brings together pop fans from across the world. Indietracks, long may you reign in our quiet corner of Derbyshire. Derby Telegraph
Our favourite Indietracks yet…  six years into its existence, the quaintest, quirkiest music festival around continues to delight. You’d be hard pushed to find a festival with such an amiable, friendly vibe and it’s not hard to see why Indietracks has become a sort of Mecca for indie-poppers the world over. Hatch’d Magazine
Rolling Stone (Italy)
There’s zero sponsorship, merch’ is sold in a single tent by the bands and record labels themselves, and the bar is run by the local branch of CAMRA. By 10 o’clock a sea of cardigans flocks en masse, a mile or so down a country track to the nearby campsite, where the ever patient owners stick up a marquee, and indiepop clubs from across the country take it turn to spin 7”s until the wee small hours. It’s as idyllic as it sounds. MusicOMH
They said it would be ace. It was double ace. So much of what I’ll remember of this festival is the smiles on everyone’s faces, whether I knew you or not. Oh, Indietracks! When I’m with you, I wish I didn’t have to go. Lost in Indiepop
Indietracks, see, is about…respect. It’s about incredible independent, DIY and alternative pop music too but the focus, it seems, is just as much about providing a genuinely lovely weekend away for all.Sheffield Star
Indietracks is one of the nicest, friendliest and hospitable festivals I’ve ever been to. Perhaps the best thing about Indietracks is its surroundings; situated on the Midland Railway museum at Butterly Station, it’s steeped in history, so when there’s a gap in your schedule there’s the prospect of a ride on either a heritage steam train or diesel locomotive. Muso’s Guide
We had another magical year; and I think the Saturday in particular was the best day I’ve ever had at Indietracks. Without wanting to get completely mushy, these really are days I’ll remember for the rest of my life. A layer of chips
The atmosphere of the festival struck me immediately as relaxed and friendly. You don’t really need to know anything about Indiepop to enjoy Indietracks, and whoever you are you’ll be made to feel welcome. Glow Magazine
The things we really liked about Indietracks was the selection of real ale, the unique music stages, the toilets (much better than you would expect from a festival), the relaxed friendly atmosphere, discovering new music and the indie discos each night. Contrary Life
The festival, which combines heritage trains and indiepop music, lets guests enjoy the regular facilities of the Midland Railway Butterley such as the steam train rides and museum, and a range of new and established indiepop bands. Ripley and Heanor News
An inspired concept and comes with a guarantee of great music and moments at every turn. Neonfiller
On top of all the great music if I take anything away with me this year, it’s konwing that community spirit, big hearts, open arms, egalitarianism and the simple joy of being kind to your fellow man and woman all still exist in this country. Beer and Bands
A rollercoaster of weather, food and good times. We had a blast. Sugar Paper Gang
Thanks to a hoard of vivacious, soul crushing, heart felt, cheeky independent artists, my summer had just begun. And for that IndieTracks. I Thank you. SeeSound
